the community christian life center
Welcome to Manchester UMC's vision for the future of our community. Please read Pastor Carl's recent letter to our congregation.
Dear MUMC Family,
We see the need for God in all parts of the world. As Christians, we are called to help. But we often forget to look in our own backyard to the children and adults struggling as they live their lives without guidance, without faith, without God. Imagine what a difference God can make for them!
Imagine the Possible: Outreach within Reach is the Community Christian Life Center (CCLC) capital campaign theme. This is an exciting time as we imagine and act on solutions to problems in our community. By doing so, the CCLC will enrich our own lives as members of the congregation; and will dramatically transform the lives of others here in St. Louis who are lost and hurting.
My hope is that you will pray right now how God might utilize you in light of this campaign to make a difference. If we pray and dare to imagine all that is possible with God’s love, we can do something that is much bigger than us as individuals. God can use us and the CCLC to change lives and change the world.
Enclosed is a brochure (download pdf) outlining the vision for our church and the CCLC. A more detailed brochure will follow in a few weeks.
During the next several days, you will be receiving a phone call from a member of your church family asking you to give prayerful consideration to the CCLC, your role in its realization, and the ministries of the church. These members will help you receive answers to your questions and will encourage you to make this campaign a prayer priority in your life.
Join me in praying for an outburst of imagination, an explosion of vision, and a time of renewal. Imagine God using MUMC to make a difference. In the weeks to come let us together pray and imagine how God might work through us to help expand God’s presence in the lives of our neighbors.
Grace and peace,
Carl Schenck
Senior Pastor
