Hurricane Relief

There are several things you can do to make a difference for those affected by the historic hurricanes the U.S. has experienced:

Pray for the people of the affected areas, for the lives lost, and for first responders.

The United Methodist Committee for Relief (UMCOR) is asking for financial donations to this hurricane relief effort. This is the preferred way to help since the money can be use whereever needed. To make a donation, visit UMCOR’s donation page.

Manchester UMC has been designated by UMCOR as a collection center for Hygiene Kits and Clean-up Buckets. UMCOR has already distributed 9,000 cleaning kits and 3,000 tubes of toothpagse to needed areas. Much more are required. Help replenish our stock.

Visit UMCOR to learn how to make a cleaning kit ($65 value) or a hygiene kit ($12 value).

It is important that the buckets and kits are assembled only with the specified items on the list. Please drop off completed buckets and kits (no loose or partially complete items) at our church office located at 129 Woods Mill Rd., Manchester, MO 63011, (636) 394-7506 between 9 a.m.-5 p.m. We are accepting buckets and kits over the next three months.

In coordination with UMCOR, our Early Response Team (ERT) will be traveling to Houston on November 4-12 to assist with recovery efforts. Anyone who would like to volunteer should click here to sign up or contact John Himpel for details.

This will be a long-term recovery effort and United Methodists will be asked to help support recovery efforts for years to come.

Keep an eye on this page for volunteer opportunities.
