Five Key Intiatives for Prayer
Manchester UMC is in the process of determining God’s direction for us in the coming years. There are five key initiatives under consideration, and it’s vital that we come together as a congregation to worship and pray about them. The initiatives have been presented in previous listening sessions and were lifted up in a special prayer service on April 19 at 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary.
The five initiatives are:
Coffee House – Imagine a relaxing place where you can go to study, read, purchase books, visit with friends, or have meetings -- all over a delicious cup of coffee in a Christian environment! That’s what this team envisions right here at Manchester UMC.
HVAC/Worship Comfort – Replacing our outdated heating, ventilation and air conditioning is a priority if we’re to worship in comfort during the long, hot summers and chilly winters. Plus, an energy-efficient system will save money on electricity and operational costs. It’s a win-win.
YouthCenter – Our youth are the church of the present and future, and they deserve their own worship space as well as a place to gather for Christian fellowship during the week. Imagine them getting closer to God and more involved than ever. This team believes it’s possible.
Intergenerational Mission Center – There’s a growing need for a mission facility that allows us to continue to grow our bike and computer rehab ministries, and allows expansion into life skills training for adults and after school programs for children. This team envisions a new building to do just that.
Live Streaming – Repairs are needed in our sanctuary sound system, and some equipment must be replaced due to new federal regulations. Making these repairs and enhancements will equip MUMC with the opportunity to live stream our worship, i.e. give us the ability to broadcast our services over the web. Folks would be able to join us from anywhere there is an internet connection.
