MUMC Golf
 |
The Golf Ministry conducts a co-ed golf league which meets at the St. Ann Golf Course on Thursdays at 8:00 a.m., April through October, to experience Evangelism and Hospitality while honing our golfing skills.
The league is open to all levels of play, but we are mostly bogey golfers and worse, so we are open to inexperienced and beginning golfers. We develope different foursomes each week and compete in various games of scramble, shamble, best ball, yellow ball, closest to the pin, etc. for nine holes.
To insure fairness, we maintain each players average score and we handicap each round, which limits the advantage of the better players. The players on the winning foursome each week are
awarded a sleeve of golf balls as is the player with the fewest putts for the day.
Half way through the season we have a picnic immediately following golf; and , we close the season with our annual luncheon held at a local restaurant for all golfers and guest which includes door prizes and a lot of fun.
