Active Shooter Training

171105195442-12-sutherland-springs-church-shooting-exlarge-169Monday, November 27, 7 p.m.

The recent attack at First Baptist Church in Sutherland, TX, has many citizens in our community asking about Active Shooter/Intruder training at houses of worship.

Manchester UMC is hosting a one-hour seminar on practical steps congregations can take, should such a situation arise in their churches.

The training will be led by Lt. Brad Kelling of the St. Louis County Police Dept. Lt. Kelling, a member of Manchester UMC, is certified as an Active Shooter Instructor. He is also associated with Tier One Tactical Solutions, which provides option-based programs that teach various responses to active shooter events.

This training is open to staff and members of all congregations, as well as all members of the community who have an interest. There is no charge for attending.

So that we may plan better please RSVP.

For questions about Manchester UMC's emergency management procedures, please contact our Pastor of Administration, Phil Estes.
